Bernardo Silva has had his say on the upcoming Champions League final clash between Manchester City and Inter Milan.
The Citizens went into their second-leg semi-final clash against Real Madrid on Wednesday having secured a 1-1 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu in the first leg last week.
In 90 minutes at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday, Pep Guardiola’s side demolished the reigning European champions 4-0 thanks to two first-half goals from Silva, followed by a goal each from Manuel Akanji and Julian Alvarez.
With Inter Milan securing their place in the final on Tuesday by beating their close rivals AC Milan 3-0 on aggregate over two legs, they will be the ones facing City in Istanbul next month to battle it out for the trophy.
Following the game against Carlo Ancelotti’s side, one City player gave their thoughts about the upcoming fixture and how they will look to prepare for it.
Silva assesses Inter final
Speaking to the club’s media after the game, Silva had this to say about taking on Inter in the final next month.
He said: “The final of the Champions League its always an unbelievable occasion. I’ve only played it once and the outcome wasn’t very happy for me, let’s try and change that knowing that we play against a very tough team.
“I watched the game yesterday and they’re very organised collectively. We’re going to study them follow the manager’s plan once again and try to put individually and collectively, like today, the best possible performance to be as close as possible to win that game.”
In terms of Inter’s journey to the final, out of the 12 Champions League games they’ve played this season, they have won seven, drawn three and lost two games, scoring 18 goals and managing to keep eight clean sheets.
This highlights just how much of a strong side they are defensively while carrying an attacking threat as well, which is something that City will need to be aware of heading into the final.
