Bernardo Silva eyed by Paris Saint-Germain for summer transfer swoop

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva is reportedly being targeted by Paris Saint-Germain for a transfer move during the upcoming summer window.

The Citizens saw several big-name players leave the club during the previous summer transfer window, mainly Oleksandr Zinchenko, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus.

Now though, with the next summer transfer period on the way, another figure in Pep Guardiola’s squad has been linked with an exit.

Silva linked with summer exit

According to a recent report from French media outlet Le Parisien, PSG have identified Silva as a suitable replacement for Lionel Messi, who has been linked with a move away from the Ligue 1 club this summer.

Since arriving at the Etihad Stadium back in 2017 in a deal worth £43m, the Portuguese international has gone on to make 302 appearances across all competitions, scoring 53 goals and providing 58 assists in the process.

This season has seen the 28-year-old feature in 51 games for the Citizens, showing how important he is for the team.

Guardiola has not been shy when it comes to sharing praise for Silva, with one recent example seeing the Spaniard claim that the midfielder is one of the best players he has trained in his managerial career.

With all of that in mind, it’d be safe to assume that the City boss would not want to see the former AS Monaco star leave the Etihad Stadium this summer.

Moving forward, we feel that the club need to do all they can behind the scenes to keep hold of Silva and make sure he doesn’t get tempted to make a move to Paris.
