Bernardo Silva has had some incredible teammates during his career — whether it is at Manchester City, AS Monaco or the Portuguese national team.

In France, Bernardo played alongside the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Radamel Falcao as part one of the most exciting teams in the world at the time.

In the Portuguese national team, the £43 million man has also had the pleasure of training and playing with legends of the game such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Pepe.

At Manchester City, the list of exceptional players that Bernardo has shared a dressing room with is virtually endless.

During his time at the Etihad Stadium, the 30-year-old got the chance to play with the likes of Vincent Kompany, David Silva, Sergio Aguero and Yaya Toure — four players who are arguably considered the club’s biggest legends.

While the former Benfica attacker has also played with other top players at City such as Kevin De Bruyne, Erling Haaland and Ilkay Gundogan to name a few.

Bernardo raves about “very complete” Rodri

However, in midfield, Rodri is a player who has often partnered Bernardo.

In the 2021/2022 season, for instance, the pair were a constant in the side.

The Portuguese international also had the chance to play with Fernandinho, who was the predecessor to the Spaniard.

However, a case could be made that in an all-time best City XI, the 28-year-old would get in over the Brazilian due to how exceptional he has been in the past couple of years.

Bernardo rates Rodri as highly as possible and feels he can do “everything” on the pitch.

Bernardo said about the £220,000-a-week via journalist Mike Minay: “He’s a very complete player. He’s got the strength and power to help us a lot when we don’t have the ball…The way he controls the tempo and the way he has added goals to his game in important matches, it’s a little bit of everything.”

Alan Shearer predicted Rodri to win the Ballon d’Or in October this year; such is his calibre as a player.

For Bernardo Silva to make such a claim is a high praise towards Rodri

Rodri is an incredible complete player without a shadow of a doubt.

But considering Bernardo is known for his completeness across the board — being an expert technician, astoundingly versatile, tenacious across the pitch and a big-game player — for him to make such a claim about the Spaniard is a huge compliment to the Euro 2024 winner.

It goes to show how much Rodri has evolved as a player that even one of his teammates and most complete players in world football is applauding how well-rounded he is.

The Spaniard will be determined to have another season to remember once he returns to the fold for City.

The challenge for Rodri will be whether he can further improve upon his performances in recent years.
