Bernardo Silva can fill any KDB void for Manchester City

Manchester City superstar Kevin De Bruyne is reportedly facing up to three weeks out with a hamstring injury.

According to the Ninety Three Twenty podcast, the Belgian maestro is looking at short spell on the sidelines after picking up a small tear against Aston Villa last night.

The 29-year-old was withdrawn just before the hour mark to be replaced by Gabriel Jesus, and Pep Guardiola said after the game that he felt it was a muscular issue.

If Ninety Three Twenty’s information is correct, then De Bruyne could miss the next four games against West Brom, Sheffield United, Burnley and Liverpool.

It’s potentially a big blow for City, with De Bruyne having once again been one of Guardiola’s standout performers.

He started a little slowly by his standards, but has been at his imperious best in recent weeks.

One wonders if a muscular injury was inevitable with De Bruyne, given the fact he plays most games and is extremely intense with his running.

The player admitted to feeling fatigued earlier in the season, and it could be that the nature of the season has finally caught up with him.

Bernardo to take over KDB’s mantle?

De Bruyne’s absence doesn’t have to sting if Bernando Silva can show what he is capable of consistently.

In the 2018/19 season which De Bruyne missed most of through injury, the Portuguese technician was outstanding for the Citizens, with his performances earning him the club’s Player of the Year award courtesy of the fans.

He became absolutely crucial in De Bruyne’s absence, and hopefully he can step up again.
