Some Manchester City fans have taken to Twitter after Wednesday’s Carabao Cup defeat to Newcastle – with many heaping praise on Oscar Bobb.
The 20-year-old was handed his full Manchester City debut by Pep Guardiola following a number of exciting substitute appearances.
Despite ending up on the losing side, the Norwegian wonderkid impressed at St James’ Park alongside Julian Alvarez in attack.

Manchester City fans hugely impressed by Oscar Bobb
It is safe to say that Manchester City fans loved what they saw from the Oslo-born prodigy on Tyneside.
One supporter called the Manchester City No.52 a “seriously special talent” after his first senior start for the Citizens.
Another fan even went as far as saying that Bobb is a mixture of Leroy Sane and Riyad Mahrez, which is a very bold statement – to say the least.
A couple of other Manchester City fans decided to comment on Bobb’s vision, and his ability to thread passes through the eye of a needle.
One fan called the Manchester City academy graduate a “young Messi” after he impressed against Eddie Howe’s side.
Another even claimed that Bobb is Guardiola’s new David Silva – the Spaniard is one of the greatest players in Manchester City’s history, so that comment speaks volumes.
Last but not least, two more Manchester City fans showered Bobb in praise.
One went as far as saying that the Norway Under-21 international is better than Jack Grealish, which is arguably a bit of an exaggeration.
As talented as Bobb is, he still has a long way to go until he reaches the £100m man’s level.
Another supporter interestingly said that the youngster’s emergence may be part of the reason why Guardiola was happy to let Cole Palmer leave for Chelsea.
Clearly, the Manchester City fans think very highly of Bobb.
Hopefully, Guardiola can still find room to start him occasionally in the Premier League, as there will be no more Carabao Cup games on the schedule for Manchester City this season after Wednesday’s Third Round exit.
