West Ham United have reportedly made a decision regarding Manchester City’s recent transfer bid for Declan Rice.
It was reported last week that the Citizens were considering making a move to sign the midfielder after seeing Arsenal have two bids for him rejected.
On Monday night, the Manchester club officially sent an offer for the Hammers to consider, which, according to David Ornstein, was said to be worth £80m plus £10m in add-ons.
Now though, the east London club have responded to this bid for their captain.
West Ham respond to City’s Rice bid

In a recent Twitter post, journalist Jason Burt revealed that West Ham have “formally rejected” City’s £90m offer for Rice
With that in mind, the Citizens may have to come up with an improved offer that the east London club would be willing to accept before Arsenal potentially do the same thing.

Bearing in mind how it was announced on Monday morning that Ilkay Gundogan will be joining Barcelona as a free agent, it’s no surprise that City have set their sights on securing a deal for Rice.
In fact, with both players ending the previous Premier League season with the same number of key passes made (37), this could be one of the reasons why the treble winners have identified the Englishman, who has been previously described as “outstanding” by journalist Henry Winter, as a suitable replacement for Gundogan.
Moving forward, if Pep Guardiola’s side are eager to sign the 24-year-old this summer, they will have to work quickly to agree a deal with West Ham for him given Arsenal’s clear intentions of not letting him slip away from them.
