Inter Milan centre-back Alessandro Bastoni has said that he is not frightened by the prospect of facing Manchester City in the Champions League final at all.

While Alessandro Bastoni understands why Manchester City are favourites to beat Inter Milan, he is not intimidated by the challenge.

Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni says he is not ‘scared’ of Manchester City

Branded as the ‘best team in the world’ by Fulham boss Marco Silva, Pep Guardiola’s side have widely been recognised as the gold standard for other sides this season.

The Sky Blues have been on a roll since the World Cup, snatching the Premier League title from Arsenal’s grasp, demolishing Bayern Munich and Real Madrid enroute to the Champions League final and having beaten Manchester United to win the FA Cup.

However, Inter Milan colossus Alessandro Bastoni has said that the prospect of locking horns against Manchester City does not faze him.

“Scared of murderers, thieves. Not of boys my age. We need to go out on the pitch and play football with a clear mind.”

“It’s normal that they are favourites. There is no fear, but the right tension, since we were seven or eight years old, we all dreamed of playing a game like this. I can’t wait to get on the pitch.”

Manchester City should strike fear into their opponents

With Alessandro Bastoni expected to lead Inter Milan’s low block against Manchester City, the favourites should start the game like a house on fire to intimidate their opponents.

Not only are the Premier League champions the superior team but in recent years, have picked up a lot of experience due to reaching the latter stages of Europe’s elite competition time and again.

Much like City looked like they meant business right from the off in their 4-0 demolition job of Real Madrid, the same blueprint should be followed to tame Simone Inzaghi’s side.
