Brian Deane compares Phil Foden to Maradona after Champions League display

Manchester City are through to the final of the Champions League after seeing off Paris Saint-Germain at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola’s men held a 2-1 lead from the first leg, and withstood some early PSG pressure to ease through to the final in Istanbul.

Riyad Mahrez tucked home the opener from close range after Kevin De Bruyne’s shot had been blocked, and Mahrez made it two in the second half.

A blistering counter-attack saw Phil Foden pick out Mahrez to seal the win, with Angel Di Maria’s red card summing up a dismal night for PSG.

City are through 4-1 on aggregate, and must now wait to find out whether they face Chelsea or Real Madrid in the final.

One of the stars of the show was Foden, who was sublime throughout with his technique simply unbelievable.

Ex-England striker Brian Deane took to Twitter to post quite the sizzling take, comparing Foden to Diego Maradona…
