Cesc Fabregas believes one Manchester City player has found the missing piece to his game this season.
Manchester City are going great guns having stretched their unbeaten streak to 20 matches with a 3-1 win over FC Copenhagen in the Champions League on Wednesday.
But all that hard work might count for little if Pep Guardiola’s side fail to beat Liverpool on Sunday in a potential Premier League title decider against Liverpool.
City will need all their players performing at their highest level and may once again look for Phil Foden to provide a match-winning contribution.
The 23-year-old scored a stunning brace to turn things around against Manchester United on Sunday as his fine season continues.
Cesc Fabregas feels that a cutting edge was the only thing missing from Foden’s game and he;s now found it.

Cesc Fabregas on Phil Foden
Speaking on Planet Premier League, Fabregas said: “I do agree that he’s having an amazing season.
“He’s exploded in so many areas. He always had the talent, he always had the physicality in my opinion, he’s a very strong, tough boy.
“He goes into challenges and he’s not scared to face anyone.
“But maybe he was missing a little bit that final product, scoring goals, making assists.
“To be a little more decisive in games and I think he’s achieved that. This is due to hard work, I’m sure playing with great players.
“Learning from the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva during the years.
Fair play to him, he’s a player I always liked. Remember he was not part of the Champions League final from the start he had to come in because of Kevin getting injured.
“He delivered a good performance from there. He stepped up big time. He’s done really well this season, yes.”
Phil Foden gets better and better
With his brace against United, Foden now has 28 goals and assists this season – two better than his previous-best tally of 26.
With so much football to play, the ‘Stockport Iniesta’ should obliterate that record on his current form.
Foden has found that missing ingredient in the attacking third which has now made him a player who consistently delivers in the biggest moments like Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland.
They don’t come much bigger than this Sunday at Anfield. If City fail to beat Liverpool, their chances of retaining the title will reduce drastically.
