Manchester City have previous history when it comes to loaning out some of their young players to other clubs.
For example, in recent memory, City have loaned out some of their academy players such as James McAtee, Callum Doyle and Luke Mbete among others.
With the summer transfer window set to shut at the end of the month, a claim emerged recently regarding one of City’s current youngsters and a potential loan exit, which has since been dismissed by the chairman of the club said to be loaning him.

Darragh MacAnthony denies journalist claim on Jacob Wright loan exit
After journalist Pete O’Rourke claimed on his X account that City midfielder Jacob Wright had agreed a loan deal with Peterborough United, the club’s chairman Darragh MacAnthony had this to say in response.
He said: “No Pete he has not. Never even came up or been discussed. Think you have been fed a whopper on this one me old pal.”
Wright could still be loaned out
Bearing in mind how City loaned out Jadel Katongo to Peterborough last summer, this connection between the two clubs could have led to the journalist being fed what MacAnthony has now clarified to be false information regarding Wright.
During his time at the Manchester club, Wright has made 59 combined appearances for City’s youth sides, chipping in with six goals and three assists.
Last season saw the midfielder make his first two senior appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side. The first of which came during City’s 5-0 win over Huddersfield Town in the third round of the FA Cup.
The 18-year-old, who is currently part of City’s pre-season squad for their tour of America, then went on to make a two-minute cameo in the 3-1 win over Copenhagen in the Champions League.
Now that MacAnthony has dismissed the claim that his club have agreed to loan Wright from City, it’ll be interesting to see if the youngster does end up making a temporary move away from the Citizens before the end of the month.
