David Moyes has said that Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola is one of the best managers English football has ever seen.

The two managers are set to face off against each other tomorrow as City head to the London Stadium to take on West Ham United in their first Premier League game following the latest international break.

With Guardiola and City on the hunt to win their fourth Premier League title in a row, the Hammers boss has had his say on where the 52-year-old ranks in terms of being amongst the best managers football history.

Speaking in his latest press conference ahead of his side’s Premier League outing against City, Moyes had this to say about Guardiola.

He said: “It’s between Pep and Sir Alex Ferguson [for the greatest manager ever]. There are lots and lots of great managers, and I think Sir Alex would always challenge anybody with his record.

“But what Pep had brought to football in the last 15 years has changed the game. He’ll continue to win trophies because he’s got a good team with good players.”

After winning numerous titles with Barcelona and Bayern Munich, the Spaniard took charge of City back in 2016.

Since then, Guardiola has seen his side win five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups and one Champions League.

As one of the most decorated managers in football history, it’s easy to see why Moyes has hailed Guardiola’s managerial career and put him in the same light as Ferguson, who won his fair share of trophies at Manchester United.

Moving forward, looking ahead to tomorrow’s game, regardless of the number of titles he’s won, the only thing on the City manager’s mind will be picking up all three points in tomorrow’s match and keeping the Manchester club’s perfect start to the season going.
