It has been reported that Chelsea are now considering a move for former Manchester City forward Ferran Torres.

This comes from the Daily Mail about the £46 million (Eurosport) man’s future, who the Sky Blues offloaded to Barcelona in January last year.

Now, it seems like Chelsea are keen on initiating a return to the Premier League for Ferran Torres.

Branded as ‘world-class’ by Xavi (via SPORT), the Spanish international had a rough time of things at the Etihad Stadium.

In his debut season, Torres was eventually shifted to the striker position after struggling to cement a place out wide, barely getting any gametime and after a major injury in his sophomore campaign, he was eventually sold to the Blaugrana.

Now, it has been reported that alongside Raphinha, Chelsea are also interested in signing Ferran Torres.

Mauricio Pochettino is believed to be keen on strengthening his side’s attack before the summer window shuts.

Manchester City should have no regrets if Torres makes the move

It would be unsurprising if Manchester City are reminded by many that Ferran Torres’ potential move to Chelsea is reminiscent of their purchase of Kevin De Bruyne.

However, that would merely be an amusing storyline rather than a move that could have the potential to make the treble-winners regret not having simply kept him.

Torres has struggled at Barcelona as well and perhaps his biggest challenge is the fact that he is yet to have nailed down a position as either a striker or a winger.

At Manchester City, the same situation transpired which is why his sale has never been looked at by the masses as one to have regretted.

If Chelsea do get the Premier League winner in, they would undoubtedly be signing a huge talent.

But Ferran Torres’ talent is yet to manifest into a frightening reality for opposition defences.
