Chris Sutton has backed Manchester City striker Erling Haaland to score against Newcastle United on Saturday.
The Manchester club’s previous match saw them draw 1-1 against title rivals Liverpool in the Premier League last weekend.
With the Citizens now preparing for their FA Cup quarter-final clash against Newcastle at the Etihad Stadium, a pundit has claimed that one particular City star will get his name on the scoresheet.
Sutton backs Haaland to score against Newcastle

In his latest column for BBC Sport where he previewed and predicted the results for this weekend’s FA Cup and Premier League fixtures, Sutton had this to say about what he thinks Haaland will do against Newcastle.
He said: “I am expecting to see Erling Haaland back on the scoresheet after he bagged five against Luton in the last round.”
This season has seen the 23-year-old find the back of the net 29 times in 33 games across all competitions.
As Sutton mentioned, five of those 29 goals came in City’s previous FA Cup match which saw them beat Luton Town 6-2 at Kenilworth Road.
In terms of his efforts in the Premier League this season, the Norwegian has had more shots at goal (87) than any other player in the division, as well as having the second-highest rate of shots on target per 90 minutes (1.83).
This shows just how much of a goal threat he is and why he could prove to be a handful for Newcastle’s defence to deal with.
Speaking of which, the Tyneside club have only been able to keep one clean sheet over their past 11 league games and conceded 26 goals in the process.
With all of that in mind, it’s easy to see why Sutton thinks Haaland will get his name on the scoresheet when the two sides face off against each other tomorrow.
