Manchester City are reportedly ready to hand Bernardo Silva one of the biggest player contracts they’ve ever handed out in an attempt to convince him to stay.
The 28-year-old’s future remains up in the air at the moment.
Bernardo has returned to pre-season with City.
But he’s still wanted by a few other clubs, and it’s been suggested that he would like to leave the Etihad.
Despite being one of City’s best players, and one of the best players in the world, Bernardo would be keen for a new environment this summer.
But a report has surfaced today suggesting City are now ready to take special measures to keep him…
Manchester City ready to hand Bernardo Silva a huge contract in an attempt to convince him to stay
90min have reported on the Bernardo situation today.
They have suggested that the Portugal international is something of a special case for City.

In the past, the club have happily let players that want to leave the club, do just that.
The club cooperated with the likes of Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane and most recently Riyad Mahrez, so that they could depart.
But Pep Guardiola is ‘adamant’ that Bernardo needs to stay at City.
And so, to try and convince him not to leave, City are ready to hand him one of the biggest player contracts they’ve ever handed out.
They are ready to place him alongside Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne as a top earner at the club.
At the moment, he is ‘only’ on £150,000-a-week according to Spotrac.
De Bruyne apparently takes home £375,000-a-week, with Haaland top of the pile on £400,000-a-week.
Bernardo would be worth a huge contract
There are few players in world football quite like Bernardo Silva.
The star is in his prime now and is playing some of the best football of his career.
He is one of the best footballers on the planet.

Not only is he an amazing technician, but he is a phenomenal team player who will run through brick walls for Pep, who has previously branded him ‘an extraordinary player’.
City may ultimately be powerless to prevent his exit this summer. If he does, then Pep may turn to youngster James McAtee.
For a while now it’s been reported Bernardo isn’t such a fan of Manchester.
But the club would be doing right by at least trying to bring him alongside De Bruyne and Haaland as a top earner.
