Manchester City No.10 Jack Grealish has now responded to a story from John Gregory.
The England international hit back at the 69-year-old on Instagram.
So, what happened between Jack Grealish and John Gregory? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, Gregory – who used to play for and also manage Aston Villa – told a rather embarrassing story on the Undr the Cosh podcast about how he once verbally abused Grealish while he was on loan at Notts County.
The man from Scunthorpe said: “I actually got Jack Grealish taken off once. He was on loan at Notts County from Villa so this would be about 2014. He must have been about 18 or 19 at the time.
“I’m in the dugout and whenever he came near me, I said, ____ing Jack Grealish. Aston Villa. ____ing rubbish. No wonder they’ve ____ing sent you out to Notts County. I’m right in his ear. Getting into him.
“They take him off. He went home and told his dad and his dad spoke to one of my friends, I can’t think who it was and one of my friends said, hey, what about your mate Gregory having a pop at my Jack?
“So my mate said, took him off though, didn’t they?”

What a pathetic story – it’s almost laughable.
Embarrassing Jack Grealish story should make Manchester City fans cringe
Does Gregory expect some sort of applause for abusing a teenager? Furthermore, we can’t even see how his insults directly led to Grealish being substituted, so it’s an odd thing to take credit for and also be visibly proud of.
After hearing this ridiculous story, the £100m man wrote: “John Gregory – Episode 1 of things that never happened… What a clown 🤭”

Whether it happened or not, Grealish is now a treble winner and also the first British footballer to cost £100m – so we highly doubt he cares about these comments whatsoever.
Hopefully – if Gregory ever makes a return to management (he is currently unemployed) – he will refrain from abusing any more teenagers.
