Galatasaray are unhappy with Tottenham loanee Tanguy Ndombele – and want to sign Mateo Kovacic from Manchester City as a replacement.
That is according to TV100 in Turkey.
So, what is the situation involving Mateo Kovacic at Manchester City? Let’s take a look…
Galatasaray want Mateo Kovacic
Well, the Croatia international only arrived at the Etihad Stadium in June – joining from Chelsea in a deal worth £25m.
Kovacic – who said he would have loved to play next to Ilkay Gundogan – has performed well so far in his six Premier League starts for Manchester City and also in his two starts in the UEFA Champions League.
Now – however – the Manchester City No.8 could be leaving for Turkey if Galatasaray make a serious push to secure his signature.
TV100 believe Okan Buruk has “lost his patience” with Ndombele, who is on loan from Tottenham for the 2023/24 campaign.

The 50-year-old is keen to revamp his midfield after bolstering Galatasaray’s attack significantly with the summer captures of Wilfried Zaha, Hakim Ziyech and Mauro Icardi.
TV100 claim that Galatasaray will attempt to sign Kovacic on loan at first, as his current €38m (£33m) valuation is proving to be obstructive.
Manchester City surely won’t sell
Kovacic signed a four-year contract at the Etihad Stadium in June running until 2027, so it would be a major shock if the Croatian left Manchester City in 2024.
The only way a sale makes sense for Manchester City would be if Galatasaray were offering the treble winners a chance to make profit on their initial £25m investment.

That would actually be something to consider – especially as Kovacic turns 30 in May and is not exactly a vital cog for Pep Guardiola – but a loan bid surely doesn’t have any chance of being successful.
Having said that, anything can happen in the transfer market, so be sure to keep an eye on the situation.
