Ajax have now banished Manchester City target Gabriel Misehouy from training as the Dutchman aims to leave Amsterdam.

That is according to Voetbal International.

So, what is the latest on Manchester City target Gabriel Misehouy? Let’s take a look…

Ajax banish Gabriel Misehouy from training

Well – according to Voetbal International – the Netherlands U19 international has been axed from training with Ajax after ignoring the Eredivisie outfit’s deadline to sign a new contract.

Misehouy has not only ignored Ajax’s renewal deadline, but the 18-year-old has even hired esteemed football agent Pini Zahavi to help him find a new club with Manchester City interested, according to De Telegraaf.

The teenager – described as a wonderkid by the Guardian – feels he should be playing in the senior side at Ajax and wants assurances over game time, although the Dutch giants believe he needs to show more in the youth ranks before that happens.

Clearly, Misehouy and Ajax are on completely different pages, which could open the door for Manchester City to sign the attacking midfielder this month, or for free in the summer.

The Amsterdam-born prodigy has been in excellent form for the Ajax U21 side so far this season, scoring seven goals in 13 appearances, while also providing three assists.

Manchester City should sign Gabriel Misehouy and send him to Girona

If regular first-team football is what Misehouy wants right now, he will not receive that at Manchester City.

However – according to the aforementioned story from De Telegraaf – Girona are also keen on signing the talented Dutchman, so perhaps Manchester City can arrange a deal to send him on loan to the Spanish outfit first, who are also part of the City Football Group.

While some fans will surely harbour concerns over Misehouy’s attitude, he does seem to be a player of world class potential who just wants to play senior football, so the gamble could well pay off.
