Manchester City have reportedly turned down a second bid from Al Ahli for winger Riyad Mahrez.
The Saudi Pro League outfit are trying hard to land the Algeria international, who has lost prominence at the Etihad Stadium in recent times.
Mahrez struggled for starts at the end of last season.
As a result, there has been a lot of speculation over the past few weeks about his future.
It’s been said that he was gutted not to have played in the FA Cup and Champions League finals.
Al Ahli want the 32-year-old and have already seen one bid rejected.
But now, they’ve failed with another.
Al Ahli fail with second bid for Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez
According to the Daily Mail, Al Ahli lodged a second bid worth £27 million in total.

Apparently, this bid was made up of a £23.2m initial offer, plus £3.8m in bonuses.
City are said to be still holding out for £30 million for the star.
Al Ahli’s first bid was around £18 million.
The fact their second bid was a jump of £9 million will potentially point to City eventually getting their asking price.
Should Mahrez leave for Al Ahli, which is something he seemingly wants to do, then City could make a move for Barcelona winger Raphinha as his replacement.
Man City should stand firm over Mahrez
So Al Ahli have seen another bid turned down for Mahrez.
They are now just £3 million away from City’s asking price for the star, who is described as ‘extremely skilled at disguising through balls to others’ by The Coaches Voice‘.
The club should definitely stand firm on that asking price of £30 million.

Al Ahli’s second bid of £27 million is £9 million more than their first.
That surely just shows that they do have the money to meet the asking price, which if anything is actually quite low for a player of Mahrez’s quality.
– Various reports are now suggesting that Ah Ahli and Manchester City have reached a £30m agreement for the transfer of Riyad Mahrez. More to follow…
