RB Leipzig have reportedly set a date for when they want Manchester City transfer target Josko Gvardiol’s future sorted out.
The Citizens have been in talks with the German club over a deal for the 21-year-old for the past few weeks after having agreed personal terms with the player last month.
Now though, a fresh behind-the-scenes development has emerged regarding Leizpig’s stance on the matter.
Leipzig set deadline ultimatum for Gvardiol transfer

According to a recent report from the Daily Mail, Leipzig manager Marco Rose wants his squad set before their match against Bayern Munich in the German Super Cup on August 12.
The report also adds that the two clubs “remain in negotiations over the structure of a deal that is expected to set a new world record for a defender.”
During his time at the German club, the Croatian has made 87 appearances in total, with 30 of them coming in the Bundesliga last season, which highlights how much of a key figure he is for the team.
With Leipzig wanting at least €100m (£86m), it’s no surprise that this particular deal hasn’t been a swift one for the Citizens to secure.

Also, the fact that they haven’t walked away from this particular saga shows how keen they are to add Gvardiol to their ranks.
Now that the Bundesliga side have set a date for when they will apparently give up trying to work out a deal with the Manchester club, this should force the treble winners to get a move on and seal something that will suit all parties.
In addition to Leipzig’s deadline, getting the defender in the City squad as soon as possible will be an added benefit for City as it’ll give him time to settle in and get used to his new teammates and how Pep Guardiola wants to play ahead of their upcoming Premier League campaign.
