Cole Palmer says Eden Hazard is actually better than ‘remarkable’ £225,000-a-week Man City player

In recent history, there have not been many better players in the Premier League than Eden Hazard.

During his time at Chelsea, the Belgian winger was well and truly a joy to watch.

In the Premier League, the retired forward registered 85 goals and 54 assists in 245 appearances.

While Hazard’s goal involvements were perhaps not as high as certain other legendary attackers to have played in the English top-flight, his all-round displays were second to none.

Cole Palmer had the privilege of playing with a batch of elite attacking players at Manchester City.

From Riyad Mahrez to Kevin De Bruyne, the Englishman had the honour of training and playing with some outstanding players at a young age during his time at City.

Palmer shares his view on whether Hazard was better than Phil Foden

One of the players Palmer came through the ranks with was Phil Foden.

After the 22-year-old’s move to Chelsea, he still managed to play alongside the £225,000-a-week man in the England national team.

Gary Lineker hailed Foden as a “remarkable talent” as he went on to win the 2024 PFA Young Player of the Year award.

Palmer knows better than most how special a player his fellow countryman is.

However, when quizzed by GOAL about whether Hazard or Foden is the superior player, the England international sided with the Chelsea legend.

The Blues poster-boy simply replied: “Hazard” to the question.

Phil Foden should not mind the Eden Hazard claim

Even though Palmer must rate Foden as a top player, Hazard is an all-time great of the game.

As a result, one doubts whether the Stockport-born midfielder would particularly mind being regarded as an inferior player to the former Real Madrid wideman.

Considering Foden is also a brilliant dribbler, extremely skillful and a match-winner in the final third like Hazard, he should aspire to become an attacker as impactful as he was.

Players such as the Manchester City talisman should take inspiration from such legends and try their best to replicate their best traits on the pitch.
