Cole Palmer takes to Instagram after signing new Manchester City deal, Laporte responds

Manchester City youngster Cole Palmer has signed a new deal with the club.

The midfielder, 19, has committed his long-term future, signing until 2026.

The contract is a reward for the starlet, who enjoyed a fine 2020/21 campaign with the EDS.

Palmer was a key component of the side that went on to win the Premier League 2 title for the first time.

He will now hope to build on a productive year.

Wythenshaw-born Palmer is widely regarded as one of the most promising talents the academy has produced in recent years.

There is big hope that he will perhaps follow in Phil Foden’s footsteps and break into the first-team eventually.

Speaking about his new deal to the club’s official website, Palmer said: “It is a very proud moment. It is a dream come true and I think my family are thrilled too.

“Obviously when I used to go to the park with them to play football when I was little, we used to always think of moments like this, so we are very happy.”

Palmer has also taken to Instagram to mark his proud day.

Fans have commented on his latest post in their thousands, and there was also a nice show of support for the youngster from Aymeric Laporte:
