Manchester City star Phil Foden received a message from MMA superstar Conor McGregor last night, following the club’s Treble win.
City have just finished a truly special season that culminated in a win over Inter in the Champions League final.
Rodri got the only goal of the game in Istanbul to cap off a magnificent season.
In the weeks leading up to the Inter game, City overtook Arsenal at the top of the Premier League before claiming the title for the fifth time in six seasons.
Pep Guardiola’s side then went to Wembley and beat rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final.
Beating Inter was the final task, and City got the job done against the Italian giants.
It was not a good performance. But that was never going to matter one bit so long as they won.
One man who perhaps played more than he thought he would in the Champions League final is Foden.
The ace was named on the bench by Guardiola.
But he came on towards the end of the first-half to replace the injured Kevin De Bruyne.
And Foden put in a good performance, and almost scored a magnificent goal in the second half when he spun away from an Inter player and waltzed into the box. His shot to the far corner was saved by Andre Onana.

Yesterday evening, Foden posted on Instagram.
It was a post of him posing with some products from his new jewellery range with Cernucci.
On the face of it, it was a relatively run-of-the-mill post from the 23-year-old. And it is only the third time he has done a paid partnership upload with the brand.
But there was one very high profile person in the comments – none other than MMA superstar Conor McGregor.
He commented ‘Congrats on the Treble, Phil! Incredible feat!’
McGregor, of course, is one of the most famous sportspeople in the world. He boasts 46.4 million followers on Instagram, which is six times as many as Foden.
It is also interesting, because McGregor is a dedicated Manchester United fan, having supported them since childhood.
Seemingly though, Foden and McGregor are actually friends or at the very least, acquainted. The pair met and had a photo at the 2022 Monaco Grand Prix.
