Paul Merson has shared his prediction for Manchester City’s upcoming Premier League match against Sheffield United.
The Manchester club’s previous league outing saw them come from behind to secure a 3-1 victory against Everton on Wednesday night at Goodison Park.
With the Citizens now preparing for Saturday’s match against Chris Wilder’s side, one pundit has shared his prediction for the clash.
Merson shares City prediction for Sheffield United clash

Written in his latest column for Sportskeeda where he previewed and predicted the scores for all of this weekend’s Premier League fixtures, Merson had this to say about City’s match against the Blades.
He said: “Manchester City win, period. It’s only going to be a question of how many goals they score in front of their home fans and it could get ugly for Sheffield United as they are coming on the back of a shocking defeat to Luton Town at home.”
As things stand, City are currently 28 points and 16 places above the Yorkshire club, who are currently bottom of the Premier League table and facing a tough relegation battle.
Even though the Blades have played one more league game than City, the Manchester club have scored 28 more goals and conceded 26 goals fewer than them.
With that in mind, and the fact that, as Merson mentioned, United head into this game off the back of losing 3-2 to Luton at home earlier in the week, it’s easy to see why the pundit reckons City will pick up another three points.
However, despite Merson’s certainty that the home side will be victorious, they will have to make sure no complacency creeps in as the Blades are fighting for their survival and were able to show earlier in the season how difficult they can be to break down when the two sides met previously.
