Danny Murphy has shared which midfielder he thinks was superior: Yaya Toure or Roy Keane.
In all fairness, Toure and Keane were quite different as players.
The Manchester City legend was far more of an attacking presence than the Irishman.
Roy Keane, on the other hand, was more of a vintage box-to-box midfielder in comparison to the Ivorian.
As a result, it is tough to differentiate which out of the two Premier League icons was the better player.
Perhaps some may argue that Toure offered more than Keane as a box-to-box midfielder.

Danny Murphy shares who is better: Yaya Toure or Roy Keane
However, it would be fair to suggest that the popular pundit was superior to the former Barcelona dynamo from a defensive sense.
To the extent that many still consider the former Manchester United captain as a sitting midfielder.
However, from an attacking point of view, Yaya Toure was on a different level to Roy Keane.
Toure could score and create goals at will, drive past players in a way elite wingers do and change the course of a game through a moment of magic in a way perhaps Keane could not.
However, some may argue Roy Keane had more longevity to his career at Old Trafford in terms of how long he was world-class, having spent 12 years at the club.
Toure spent eight years at City and after five seasons, one could argue his form underwent a significant dip, unlike in Keane’s case.
“Yaya Toure or Roy Keane”, Danny Murphy was asked [via the Daily Mail on TikTok].
Murphy replied, “Yaya Toure.”
Perhaps Danny Murphy picked Yaya Toure over Roy Keane because, at his best, the former was a superior player to the latter and arguably every midfielder in Premier League history.
As a result, Toure holds a special place in Premier League history.
