Manchester City know all about being involved in Premier League title races.

Since Pep Guardiola took charge of City back in 2016, the Blues have won six Premier League trophies, all of which have come in the past seven years.

In terms of which other sides the Manchester club have had to battle with to be crowned champions, the usual suspects have been Liverpool and Arsenal.

In fact, Gary Neville said that City will know Arsenal are getting closer to winning the title this season after finishing second behind the Blues in the last two campaigns.

With seven matches played in this latest campaign, City have won five and drawn two, scoring more goals (17) than any other top-flight side along the way.

Despite there still being a long way to go before the 2024/25 Premier League title gets decided, a pundit has highlighted a different side that he thinks could be in the mix to take the trophy away from the Citizens.

Darren Ambrose reckons Chelsea could have a chance to beat Man City to the title

While discussing what he’s seen from certain sides in the Premier League so far this season, Darren Ambrose said this on talkSPORT (9/10 19:22) about Chelsea’s chances of being in the title race.

He said: “I don’t think they’re going to win, I think Man City are going to win. I think they’re in with a shout.

“The last couple of years, even when Pochettino was involved, they were a team of superstars but they’re individuals. But now, they seem to be gelling as a team.

“They’ve got a huge game coming up next, of course, but I think they’re in with a shout, I do.”

Enzo Maresca has already shared his thoughts on Man City

With his side only being three points behind City, Enzo Maresca has already shared his thoughts on where Chelsea rank amongst the clubs vying to win the title this season (via TNT Sports).

He said: “I really don’t think we can compete with City or Arsenal. I really don’t think that because we are not ready.

“The reason is that City has worked with the same manager for nine years and Arsenal for five years. If you want to compete for big things, you need that time.”

Despite having lost one more game than City, Chelsea have conceded the same number of goals (8) as Guardiola’s side and bagged just one fewer than them (16).

In terms of City’s hunt to with a fifth consecutive league trophy, Micah Richards said that City will only win the title if Erling Haaland stays fit for the season.

Regardless of how other teams fare throughout the campaign, the best thing City can do is just focus on themselves and use their vast experience of being in title races to get them through another one.
