It has been claimed that Manchester City are ready to sell one of their youngsters this summer.
A bulk of City’s sales in recent seasons have come from selling their own young talent and that strategy does not seem to be stopping anytime soon.
The sales of James Trafford, Romeo Lavia, Gavin Bazunu and Tommy Doyle are all notable examples.
Pep Guardiola’s men seem eager to allow their young players a chance to play first-team football elsewhere while recouping their desired fee from their exits; a model that benefits all parties involved.

David Ornstein provides huge Liam Delap to Ipswich Town update
This time around, the player in question is 21-year-old Liam Delap — a player City were willing to let go of, as per a report in early June.
The Englishman has been out on loan since 2022 at Stoke City, Preston North End and Hull City but it seems like he is set to part ways with the Sky Blues now.
On X, David Ornstein revealed that Ipswich Town have agreed a deal with Manchester City to sign Delap for an initial £15 million plus £5 million in add-ons in a transfer that could be worth £20 million in total.
Ornstein has stated that agreeing personal terms with the highly-rated striker is not expected to be an issue and he is “set to do [a] medical” on Wednesday before joining Kieran McKenna’s side.
The reputed journalist also claimed that while City had reached a similar agreement with Southampton, Delap chose Ipswich as his desired choice of destination.
The potential Liam Delap transfer benefits all parties involved
If Ipswich do end up signing Delap from the Etihad Stadium, the deal will benefit all parties involved.
Manchester City could bank as much as £20 million for a player who has made just two appearances in the Premier League.
As for Delap, he will get a chance to play Premier League football under Kieran McKenna — who is one of the most exciting young coaches in English football.
Ipswich Town will also be hoping to get a deal over the line as the Winchester-born striker’s eye for goal, powerful strike, imposing frame and speed make him readymade for the English top-flight.
