Diogo Jota has played against Manchester City on numerous occasions during his time in England.
In fact, the winger has faced off against City nine times in the Premier League, winning two, drawing five and losing two.
Now that the 2024/25 season has officially kicked off, the Portuguese international could well be coming up against the Blues in the league again when Liverpool face City at Anfield in November and at the Etihad Stadium in February.
Now though, Jota has shared his thoughts on one particular City player in the squad who will likely be a key figure for Pep Guardiola’s side this season.

Diogo Jota admits he finds Erling Haaland scary
Featuring in a recent short video shared on the Goal YouTube channel, Jota was involved in a word association challenge where he had to say one word to describe a certain player or pick a word that best describes a particular player.
When asked to say one word to sum up Erling Haaland, the Liverpool attacker used the word “scary.”
Haaland is a scary player
After scoring 86 goals in 89 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, Haaland joined City back in the 2022 summer transfer window in a deal worth £51m.
Since then, the Norwegian has found the back of the net 90 times in 99 appearances for the Citizens, winning numerous trophies in the process.
While this highlights how scary Haaland is for opposition defenders and goalkeepers to come up against, it’s interesting that Jota has shared how frightened he is of the striker.
In fact, Micah Richards recently suggested that City’s title chances depend on whether the 24-year-old is able to stay fit throughout the campaign.
Moving forward, everyone at City will undoubtedly be hoping that Haaland can frighten as many opposition players as possible this season and fire the team towards more silverware.
