Chris Sutton has now made a claim about Manchester City after Saturday’s 2-0 win over Sheffield United.
The 50-year-old made the comments when speaking on The Monday Night Club for BBC 5 Live Sport.
So, what did Chris Sutton say about Manchester City? Let’s take a look…
Chris Sutton wants Manchester City to slip up
Well, the man from Nottingham – who thinks Rodri was Manchester City’s best player in 2023 – does not want to see Pep Guardiola lift a fourth successive Premier League title.
Sutton said: “We all aren’t giving Villa or Spurs a real chance, but their form has been that good at the start of the season that I wouldn’t totally rule them out.
“It’s (down to) what happens at Manchester City. We are expecting them to put the foot down and leave everybody in their wake, but maybe with the evidence we have seen – and I am clutching here – but maybe they just won’t get going for whatever reason.
“I think everybody is thinking the same disappointing thing at the moment, but I hope Man City don’t win it because they have been that dominant it’s got boring.”

Manchester City would become the first side in history to win four consecutive Premier League titles if Guardiola defends the crown this season, putting the club’s dominance into perspective.
Manchester City cannot be called boring
If Manchester City win the Premier League title this season, it will not be down to them being boringly brilliant, but mainly due to other sides failing to capitalise.
Arsenal and Liverpool had several chances to create a significant gap over Manchester City while the treble winners embarked on a strange run of four Premier League games without a win.
However, Liverpool were held to a 1-1 draw against Luton and also recorded a disappointing 0-0 draw against Manchester United.

In regards to Arsenal, the Gunners only have one win in their last five Premier League outings, losing to Aston Villa, West Ham and Fulham while drawing against Liverpool.
Therefore, a fourth successive Premier League title for Manchester City would not be “boring” in any sense – mainly a product of others failing to take advantage.
