Divock Origi has suggested that Manchester City midfielder Rodri is better than Joshua Kimmich and Casemiro.

The Nottingham Forest striker has almost 350 senior appearances under his belt, having played for some big clubs in England, Italy, Germany and France.

With such significant experience to his name across four of Europe’s top five leagues, the 28-year-old has been showing off his knowledge of the football landscape and mentioning one particular City star in the process.

In a recent video shared on Forest’s official Tik Tok channel, Origi was picking a starting XI by choosing players for each position in a draft style based on their EA FC 24 cards.

When he got to the defensive-midfield position, Origi was given the options of Rodri, Kimmich and Casemiro before picking the City star for his team.

City signed the Spaniard from Atletico Madrid back in the 2019 summer transfer window for a fee of £62m.

Since then, the 27-year-old has made 239 appearances for the Citizens across all competitions prior to today’s Premier League match against Bournemouth.

This season has seen the midfielder show how crucial he is for the Blues as he has made more recoveries (154) and progressive passes (232) than any other City player in the Premier League.

He also has the highest combined total of tackles and interceptions (67) in the squad, further highlighting how effective he is on the pitch.

Having come fifth in the latest Ballon d’Or rankings and be labelled by Pep Guardiola as the best midfielder in the world, it’s understandable why Origi picked Rodri for his team over Kimmich and Casemiro.

Moving forward, if the Spain international can continue to impress and help his team regain the titles he helped them win last season, this will undoubtedly increase his status as one of the best midfielders around.
