Former Manchester City player, Bradley Wright-Phillips, has shared his thoughts about how the club has grown since he was there.
Having emerged through the club’s youth ranks, the striker ended up making 41 senior appearances for the Citizens between December 2004 and May 2006 before joining Southampton in the 2006 summer transfer window.
With the Manchester club winning their fifth Premier League title in six years last season as well as the FA Cup and the Champions League, the former City figure has shared his thoughts on how the club has evolved since he was there.
Wright-Phillips amazed by City growth

Speaking on talkSPORT, Wright-Phillips said this about City following their treble-winning season.
He said: “Listen, there’s always going to be love in my heart for Man City, that’s the club I came through at, but let’s not lie to ourselves that’s a completely different Man City, that’s basically a different team. I know there’s a lot of the same employees there so that’s a good thing.
“Seeing them win the treble, it almost doesn’t make sense. I’m in New Jersey and I’m seeing little kids walking around in Man City jerseys, I feel like ripping it off them, ‘you can’t support this team, it’s Man City,’ but it’s amazing to see, honestly, I never could have envisioned them going this far.”

Finishing eighth, 15th and 14th in the three Premier League seasons Wright-Phillips had in the senior side at City, it’s easy to see why he has been amazed by the heights Pep Guardiola’s side have reached in recent years.
Now that the 38-year-old has highlighted how many young people he sees in America wearing City shirts highlights how much of a global reach the club now has.
In addition to that the club retained their position at the top of the 2023 Deloitte Football Money League and for the second time were the club to generate the highest revenue in world football.
Moving forward, having won the treble last time out, the plan for next season will undoubtedly be to regain the trophies they lifted over the past few months and potentially go one further and win the Carabao Cup that they missed out on last year.
