Glenn Murray has praised Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola ahead of tomorrow’s clash against Manchester United.

As things stand, the Spaniard has won more Premier League games at Old Trafford (4) than any other opposing manager.

With the City boss now having the opportunity to increase his number of Old Trafford victories, one pundit and former Premier League player has taken the opportunity to share his praise for the 52-year-old.

Speaking in the latest edition of Team Talks by Premier League Productions (via Optus Sport), Murray had this to say about Guardiola.

He said: “This guy just breaks records wherever he goes, Pep Guardiola, that’s all he does, break records, takes leagues by storm and it doesn’t surprise me he’s got the most wins at Old Trafford.”

Across his entire managerial career, Guardiola has faced off against United 23 times in total, leaving only Arsenal (29) and Chelsea (25) that he has managed against on more occasions.

Looking at those 23 games, Guardiola has been on the winning side 13 times, drawing three and losing seven.

The last time City took on Erik ten Hag’s side, they beat them 2-1 at Wembley Stadium to ultimately lift the FA Cup towards the end of last season.

However, City’s previous match at Old Trafford saw them lose 2-1, which will undeniably be something that Guardiola will be hoping to avoid on this particular visit.

Taking into account how successful the City boss has been in terms of winning silverware in every country he’s managed in, it’s easy to see why Murray has been so complimentary about him and why his record at Old Trafford doesn’t surprise him.

Moving forward, if Guardiola can pick up another victory against United tomorrow, this will not only further increase his reputation as being a top manager, but will also give his side a big step towards potentially regaining their Premier League title.
