Manchester City youngster, Morgan Rogers, will reportedly be leaving the club on a permanent basis today.
After joining City’s U23 squad back in 2019 from West Bromwich Albion’s youth ranks, the winger has completed loan spells away from the Manchester club with the likes of Lincoln City, Bournemouth and Blackpool.
Now, it has been claimed that the 20-year-old is facing another departure from the Etihad Stadium, this time on a more permanent basis.
Rogers to leave City

In a recent Twitter post, journalist, Fabrizio Romano said this on the situation.
He said: “Understand Manchester City 2002 born winger Morgan Rogers is set to leave the club to join Middlesbrough, permanent deal in place. Done deal. Rogers, undergoing medical tests now as paperwork will be signed today.”
During his time in City’s youth ranks, the Englishman scored nine goals and delivered five assists in 37 appearances but failed to feature in a senior game for the club.

Last season saw Rogers complete a loan spell in the Championship with Blackpool and despite only scoring one goal and providing two assists in 20 league appearances, he did find himself being described as a “terrific” player by Mick McCarthy in regards to the effort he put in during training.
With all of that in mind, it’s not surprising that City are apparently willing to let go of the attacker on a permanent basis given his lack of consistency in terms of delivering goal contributions, which seem to make him unlikely to have been getting any senior playing time in the near future.
With a move to Middlesbrough now looking like his next destination, everyone at City will presumably be hoping Rogers can find his feet and become a top player in the second division.
