Harry Redknapp has claimed that Harry Kane is a better striker than Manchester City star Erling Haaland.
The two strikers spent just one season in the Premier League together before Kane left Tottenham Hotspur to join Bayern Munich in a deal worth £100m back in August.
With the duo ending the previous Premier League campaign as the two highest scorers in the division, they confirmed their status as two of Europe’s best centre-forwards.
Now though, one former top-flight manager has shared his thoughts on which of the prolific duo he thinks is better.
Redknapp says Kane is better than Haaland
Speaking in a recent video on Chris Cowlin’s YouTube channel, Redknapp had this to say about Kane and Haaland.
He said: “Harry Kane is the best centre-forward in the world, I don’t care what anyone says, he’s better than Haaland. He’s an amazing all-round player and he’s proved that in Germany, look what he’s doing there.”
Bearing in mind how Redknapp is a former Spurs manager and the one that gave Kane his senior debut at the north London club, it’s safe to say that he has some bias towards the Englishman.
Looking back over last season, Haaland scored 36 goals in 35 Premier League games, whereas Kane found the net 30 times in 38 matches.
The Manchester club and Pep Guardiola are well aware of how much of an impressive striker the former Spurs star is, as they tried to sign him for £100m back in 2021.
Since joining Bayern, the England captain has found the net 22 times in 18 games across all competitions prior to Saturday’s Bundesliga clash against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Regardless of whoever Redknapp thinks is a better striker, the main factor from a City’s supporters point of view is that Haaland can continue to score goals on a regular basis as this will give Guardiola’s side a great chance of winning more silverware.
