Simon Jordan has suggested that Pep Guardiola could leave Manchester City sooner rather than later.
Back in January, Jurgen Klopp announced that this will be his final season in charge of Liverpool, which means that tomorrow’s clash between City and the Merseyside club at Anfield could be the last time the German faces off against Guardiola.
Ahead of this significant game, one pundit and former Premier League club owner has dropped a claim regarding how long the City boss could have left at the Manchester side.
Jordan says Guardiola could leave City soon

Speaking on talkSPORT, Jordan had this to say about when Guardiola could leave City after discussing Klopp’s imminent exit from Liverpool.
He said: “These characters, these very large characters, and specifically Klopp, really resonate with people and that’s why I think it’s such a sad thing to lose him.
Things don’t last forever and I think Klopp will be really missed in the Premier League. I think it’s a sad situation that we’re losing that sort of personality, that sort of charisma and that sort of impact because there are not many of them. That will be followed, I suspect, in a reasonably short time by Guardiola.
“I don’t think he’ll hang around that much longer. I think if he does another Treble this year, which he’s perfectly capable [of], he’s the sort of manager that goes out when people want more not less. Not that I can ever imagine there’s going to be a period of time where they want less from Guardiola.”
Since the 53-year-old was appointed as City’s manager back in 2016, the Spaniard is now in the middle of his eighth season in charge of the Citizens after only spending three years in charge of Bayern Munich and four in charge of Barcelona.
During his time at the Etihad Stadium, Guardiola has overlooked 456 games in total, winning 338, drawing 54 and losing 64.
In terms of the titles he’s won at City, the Spaniard has lifted five Premier League trophies, two FA Cups, four League Cups and one Champions League.
As things stand, the City manager’s contract is set to expire in the summer of 2025, meaning that unless he signs a new deal, next season could be his final one at the Manchester club.
Bearing in mind how Guardiola has hinted that he could be open to extending his stay at City, we feel that it should be a top priority for the club to get the Spaniard to sign a new deal and keep him in his position for as long as possible.
