Eden Hazard has played with several players who would be classed as rapid — especially at Chelsea and Real Madrid.

At Stamford Bridge, Hazard played with Willian, for instance, who was known for being one of the quickest wingers in the Premier League.

The Belgian had a dangerous partnership with the former Fulham speedster out wide at Chelsea, who would brush past defenders due to his incredible pace.

At Real Madrid, the list is virtually endless.

Some of the players who were known for their remarkable pace include Gareth Bale, Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo Goes to name a few.

Hazard says Man City legend was incredibly quick

Hazard was not known to be particularly rapid.

However, the two-time Premier League winner was one of those players who looked faster with the ball at his feet than without it.

The former Lille wideman’s quick feet made him virtually impossible to stop.

As a result, the 33-year-old was a nightmare for right-backs to tame.

Speaking to 90 Min via TikTok, Hazard was asked to build the ultimate player based on several attributes.

The Champions League winner Toni Kroos for his passing, Sergio Ramos for his defending, Didier Drogba for his physicality and Federico Valverde for his shooting.

When the ‘pace’ category was brought up, Hazard opted for Vincent Kompany.

Vincent Kompany was incredibly quick at Man City

Despite often being injured, Kompany was one of the quickest defenders in world football during his time at Manchester City.

The now-Bayern Munich boss’ speed is the key reason why he was often comfortable defending out wide.

Kompany would often be tasked with the challenge of defending against quick centre-forwards such as Luis Suarez and Wayne Rooney.

However, the former Hamburg defender would be able to hold his own, with his large strides allowing him to keep pace with such fast attackers.

Hazard picking Kompany out of all the players he played with in his career is a testament to how fast the Manchester City legend truly was.
