Eden Hazard says he has never come across a player like Erling Haaland before.
The former Chelsea winger gave an insight into watching the Manchester City hitman since his time at Borussia Dortmund, as he used to watch their games due to Thorgan Hazard being at the club back then.
As prolific as Erling Haaland was at Dortmund, he managed to outdo his goalscoring tally at City last season, despite playing in a tougher league and more football than he has ever played in his senior career.
Eden Hazard says he has never seen a player like Erling Haaland
In his first full season for the German giants during the 2019/2020 campaign, the £51 million (Sky Sports) man registered 44 goals in all competitions but in his debut term for Pep Guardiola’s men, his goal tally was 52.
It would be fair to claim that at 23 years of age, the likes of Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe, who remain elite goalscorers were not as prolific as the Norwegian striker is.
Now, Eden Hazard has revealed on The Obi One Podcast that he has never seen a player like Erling Haaland before.

“If you talk about [Erling] Haaland, Haaland is the guy who is going to score 50 goals every season. Playing good or playing bad, he’s going to score goals”, he said.
“Inside the box.”
“I never saw a guy like that. Again, because he was playing with Thorgan [Hazard], so I watched Dortmund.”
“I was already saying to my brother, ‘This guy is that good? He scores every game, three goals!’ He was like, ‘This guy in the box, forget it.’
Erling Haaland is unique
Especially when Erling Haaland is bang in form, one can relate to Eden Hazard in being baffled by what they are witnessing.
For instance, at the start of last season, it seemed like Haaland was capable of scoring a hat-trick in every game he played, having scored two in successive games against Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest.
Three matches later, Haaland managed to score three goals against Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United side in a 6-3 win for Manchester City.
The level of inevitability that the Leeds-born frontman brings when it comes to scoring goals is a feeling that one can only associate with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski in the last decade, which makes him such a rare talent.
