Ederson has shared some details on what Pep Guardiola does on the touchline during Manchester City games.
Having recently won his fifth Premier League title with the Citizens, the Brazilian has shed some light on what it’s like to have the 52-year-old as a manager.
Speaking to TNT Sports (via City Xtra), Ederson said this when asked about what it’s like working with Guardiola.
He said: “He lives, breathes football. In every game, not just against Real [Madrid], you can see he lives it.
“Whether you make a mistake and he shouts at you, or you make a good pass and he shouts to applaud, he’s a guy who lives it all, he’s very demanding.
“He lives all of that. His mind is constantly filled with thoughts, but it’s normal, we know him.
“When it’s time to criticise you, he criticises you; when it’s time to swear at you, he swears at you on the field; when it’s time to praise you, he praises you. So, I think he’s that kind of good coach who says whatever he has to say to you to your face.”
Ederson’s experience with Guardiola
Having made 288 appearances under Guardiola, leaving only four other players having made more, it’s safe to say that the shot-stopper knows what it’s like to work with the Spaniard and what his methods are.

Taking into account how the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager has won numerous domestic trophies during his time with City and could end this season with the FA Cup and the Champions League added to the cabinet as well, this shows just how much the knowledge and passion Guardiola has for the game has helped his current side be so successful.
Bearing in mind what Ederson has said, it’s clear that he has a positive relationship with his manager and appreciates the way he communicates, which is something that we feel every manager should see as a big factor in terms of leading a group forward successfully.
Moving forward, if the City boss can guide his team to two more victories in the FA Cup and Champions League finals, this will show how important his histrionics on the touchline and on the training ground can be.
