Man City’s win over Crystal Palace was on Saturday was one of the best of the season.
Having gone 2-0 done in the contest, Pep Guardiola’s men stormed back to win the game 5-2 thanks to a masterful display from Kevin De Bruyne.
Gary Lineker has said Man City looked back to their best against the Eagles and the Match of the Day host would have loved the assist Ederson provided for James McAtee’s goal for City’s fourth on the day.
The only negative for the Manchester club on the day was the injury the Brazilian sustained in the second half and a new report has provided a worrying update on the City goalkeeper.

Man City could be without Ederson for weeks
This season has been a tough one for Ederson at Man City as the 31-year-old has been dealing with fitness issues throughout the campaign, with the Brazilian having been plagued by groin problems, which have been severe enough to prevent him from training fully.
Ederson has missed six Premier League matches through injury this term and has been named on the bench in four Premier League games being replaced by Stefan Ortega in the City net.
According to the Daily Mail, the Man City number one could face weeks on the sidelines as it remains unclear if the Brazil star will miss the rest of the 2024/25 Premier League campaign.
Guardiola will be hoping that the 31-year-old will be back fit for the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States this summer, with Man City kicking off their campaign against Wydad AC on June 18.
There is also the possibility that Ederson has played his final game for Man City against Crystal Palace, but that is in the hands of Guardiola.
Has Ederson played his final match for Man City
Saudi Arabian clubs showed strong interest in Ederson last summer and they are expected to return for the Brazilian goalkeeper over the coming months.
Should Guardiola learn that the 31-year-old intends to leave the Manchester club this summer, this injury could mean that he has played his last game for City, as it would be beneficial for the Spanish coach to start preparing for next season.
Ortega has admitted that he is happy at Man City and is likely to remain at the Etihad until the end of his contract in 2026.
With Man City needing to strengthen other areas, the German goalkeeper has proven that he is good enough to be Guardiola’s number one for a season, until a new shot-stopper arrives the summer after.
This injury is very unfortunate for Ederson and even though he is likely to play for Man City again this season, Guardiola should seriously think about getting a head start on the 2025/26 campaign.
