‘Eras come to an end’… Man City fans all saying the same thing as Man United confirm Erik ten Hag sack

Manchester United confirmed their decision to sack Erik ten Hag on Monday.

In 2020, Ten Hag claimed Pep Guardiola failed to adapt to the Premier League in his debut season at Manchester City due to sticking to his principles despite the “speed and power” of English football.

However, the Dutchman’s spell at Manchester United has been one that have made his comments about Guardiola age like milk.

After their latest 2-1 defeat to West Ham United, the Red Devils are sitting in 14th place in the league while also being in 21st place in the Europa League.

With three wins in their first nine league games and having scored just eight goals, United are in the same position they were in the 1973/1974 season when they eventually got relegated — as per Statman Dave.

Manchester City, on the other hand are on top of the league table by one point while being in third place during the ongoing league phase of the Champions League.

Man City fans are upset about Manchester United sacking Erik ten Hag

Since Pep Guardiola was appointed by City in 2016, their cross-town rivals have sacked Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Erik ten Hag.

During the same period, Michael Carrick and Ralf Rangnick were interim managers, a role that Ruud van Nistelrooy will also serve for the time being.

However, Manchester City fans have expressed their sarcastic tone in being gutted after Ten Hag was shown the door by Manchester United as they were reveling from the misery that the club were undergoing due to their poor results.

One fan wrote: “It’s a sad day but unfortunately, all eras come to an end.”

Another Manchester City supporter stated: “No, we’ll miss you, legend.”

“A dark day for football. Should have been given more time. Such a shame. Always liked him.”

Another fan wrote: “We’ll always have a soft spot for him.”

“This is almost as sad as when we lost [Sergio] Aguero.”

Lastly, another supporter claimed: “We don’t want you to leave, ETH [Erik ten Hag].”

Ten Hag vs Guardiola Man United vs Man City head-to-head

Now that Erik ten Hag has left Manchester United, Pep Guardiola will have to prepare to face another manager when derby day arrives.

For now the man in question could be Ruud van Nistelrooy.

But only time will tell whether United are convinced the former PSV Eindhoven boss is fit for the job until the end of season. Here is Pep Guardiola’s record against Erik ten Hag during his time at Manchester United.
