Erling Haaland and John Stones have been discussing EA Sports FC 24 ratings alongside their Manchester City teammates Kalvin Phillips and Sergio Gomez.

The quartet were playing a game of Guess Who on the club’s official YouTube channel, when an interesting claim was made about the latter.

So, what was said about Sergio Gomez? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, Haaland and Stones believe the 23-year-old is a lot quicker than EA Sports have given him credit for.

Gomez is only rated 69 for pace on EA Sports FC 24.

After seeing the Spaniard’s statistics, Stones said: “Sergi, the pace looks low there.”

Haaland then backed the England international’s comment by saying: “The pace has to be more.”

Clearly – judging by the opinions of those who see him train on a daily basis – Gomez has been hard done by here.

The Manchester City No.21 has certainly looked sharp so far this season in his limited game time, providing a fine assist for Haaland in the recent 5-0 win over Fulham after being given a rare opportunity to play.

Sergio Gomez deserves credit for his attitude at Manchester City

Ever since Pep Guardiola signed his fellow countryman in an £11m deal from Anderlecht back in August 2022, he has only handed him two starts in the Premier League.

Of course, competition for places at the Etihad Stadium is fierce, and there are a vast amount of world class footballers.

However, Gomez surely expected to play a bit more after making the move to Manchester, so he deserves credit for sticking to it and making an impact when called upon, just like he did in the aforementioned win over Fulham.

Regardless of how much playing time he may receive, the Spaniard is clearly a well-liked figure in the dressing room if this YouTube video is anything to go by.
