Micah Richards has shared the three former Manchester City players that he still talks to on a regular basis.

The right-back spent 14 years at the Manchester club having worked his way through their youth ranks after arriving from Oldham’s youth academy back in 2001.

During his time at City, Richards won two Premier League titles, one League Cup and one FA Cup, playing alongside numerous other names in the process.

Having left the club in 2015, the pundit has shared which of his former City teammates he currently still speaks to.

Speaking in a recent edition of The Rest Is Football, Richards had this to say when asked which of his former City teammates he still talks to.

He said: “The only people I speak to every other day is Joleon Lescott, James Milner and Joe Hart every now and then.

“I thought it’d be the whole team, I was really close with [Vincent] Kompany and Nigel De Jong and [Mario] Balotelli but everyone goes their separate ways.”

Focusing on Hart, he played in 125 games with Richards in all competitions between the 2006/07 and 2013/14 seasons.

With 28 of those games being in the 2011/12 Premier League campaign, which saw City win the title, it’s safe to say that the duo have played a big part in the club’s history.

Back in June last year, the pair were pictured together holidaying in Ibiza, which shows how close they still are.

More recently, Richards came to Hart’s defence after the goalkeeper found himself being questioned by Jamie Carragher for his role in Celtic’s 2-0 defeat to Lazio in their latest Champions League game.

With all of that in mind, it’s easy to see why the 36-year-old is one of the few former City players that Richards still speaks to on a fairly regular basis.
