Nathan Ake has said that Manchester City teammate, Jeremy Doku, has already become a popular figure in the dressing room.
City signed the winger during the recent summer transfer window from Rennes in a deal worth £55m.
Despite being fairly new to the club, the Belgian has already found himself being spoken about in glowing terms from one of his new teammates.
Ake hails ‘promising’ Doku
Speaking in a recent interview with the club, published on their official website, Ake had this to say about Doku.
He said: “He is settling in very good. He is a fun character and everyone likes him in the changing room. For me, it is easy to speak to him because he speaks Dutch, so we can have good conversations. He is a very nice guy and I think that makes it easier to settle into the team.
“Every time he has played, he has played really well. He is so dangerous and always creates something, whether it is chaos for their defence or opportunities for us. There is certainly more to come, but the start is very promising.”
Since joining the Manchester club, the 21-year-old has made five appearances across all competitions prior to today’s Premier League clash against Wolves, scoring one goal in the process.
With just three league appearances under his belt, the attacker has racked up the joint-highest number of progressive carries (19) in the City squad, as well as making more carries into the penalty area (12) than any other player in Pep Guardiola’s squad.
This highlights how much of a forward-thinking player he is and backs up Ake’s point about him being a dangerous player who can create goalscoring opportunities for his teammates.
