John Stones has praised fellow Manchester City defender Nathan Ake for the way he has progressed at the club.
The Englishman has been at the Manchester club since 2016 and has shared the pitch with a lot of top players.
Now though, the 29-year-old has taken the time to share some significant praise for one of his current teammates.
Stones amazed by ‘incredible’ Ake

Speaking in a recent edition of the Official Man City Podcast, Stones had this to say about Ake,
He said: “His journey from Chelsea to Bournemouth to Man City wasn’t easy and now he’s absolutely flying and I couldn’t be happier.
“He’s an incredible professional, and first and foremost an incredible person. Everyone loves him and loves to be around him. His energy is great.
“He has grown off the pitch and it’s followed him onto the pitch. The attributes he brings to the game are incredible. He’s so good one versus one and so is his decision making.”
City signed the Dutchman from Bournemouth back in the 2020 summer transfer window in a deal worth £41m.
Since then, the 29-year-old has made 115 appearances for the Citizens across all competitions, chipping in with 10 goals and two assists along the way.
This season has seen Ake make the joint-second-highest number of tackles in the defensive third of the pitch (13) in the City squad, as well as winning more aerial duels (36) than any other defender at the club in the Premier League this season.
Back in August, the Dutchman admitted that his debut season at the Etihad Stadium was not particularly impressive, although Pep Guardiola kept believing in him, giving him the time and space to become the player he is now.
Now that Stones has shared his praise for the way Ake has progressed and developed on and off the pitch, this if further proof of how much of a smart signing he has been for the club.
