After Manchester City beat Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1 on Saturday, Pep Guardiola reserved special praise for Jeremy Doku.
Speaking after the contest (via City’s official website), the Catalan tactician gave his two cents on the £55 million (Independent) man’s electric display.
It’s safe to say that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was floored by Jeremy Doku, who toyed with Brighton & Hove Albion throughout the game.
Pep Guardiola raves about ‘exceptional’ Jeremy Doku after Manchester City beat Brighton
Branded as ‘clever’ by the Spaniard as well, the Belgian winger set up Julian Alvarez’s opener by showcasing his quick feet and eye for a pass.
Throughout the clash, Doku was merciless in his approach, leaving defenders for dead as he proved once again that his combination of elite dribbling and raw pace is far too much to handle for any defender.
After Manchester City bounced back from their defeat against Arsenal by beating Brighton, Pep Guardiola singled Jeremy Doku out for praise.

“I am really pleased for his impact since he came into us. After the West Ham game, he didn’t play one or two [games] because of doubts he has to play game, game, game and he is not used to it”, he said.
Pep Guardiola went on to laud the ex-Rennes wideman after Manchester City defeated Brighton, saying, “He is an exceptional winger. Jeremy is so smart in defensive areas and after, he has the quality. He got to the byline and got us the first goal and there were many actions. It’s the start of many years for him in this house.”
So far, the youngster has settled extremely well in a sky blue shirt; far better and quicker than any other new winger the club have signed under Guardiola.
Over time, one only expects him to add to his already frightening skillset.
