Manchester City full-back Joao Cancelo has reportedly already rented a flat in Barcelona ahead of his proposed move there.

The full-back has not been involved for City since the new season started.

He’s missed all four of City’s competitive games so far, after featuring for the club in pre-season.

Cancelo reportedly fell out with Pep Guardiola in January, leading to his loan move to Bayern Munich.

It seems Cancelo has been unable to make amends with the manager, and for the past few weeks there has been speculation of a loan move to Barcelona.

It is thought Barca cannot currently afford to buy Cancelo.

So the clubs are discussing a loan with option to buy. And Cancelo has been putting things in place in the meantime…

It is apparently in the area of Via Augusta.

The two clubs are currently working hard to finalise a deal.

At the moment, the two clubs are working to agree on the option to buy part of the deal.

Earlier this week, Fabrizio Romano suggested a breakthrough would be reached soon.

Cancelo seems confident Barcelona move will complete

If it’s true Cancelo has already rented a flat then he must be fairly confident that this move will now go through.

It will just be interesting to learn the terms and structuring of the deal.

Ideally, City would be selling Cancelo this summer. He is clearly not a player Guardiola wants to count on.

But seemingly permanent offers have not been forthcoming for a player once branded ‘exceptional’ by Pep.

City have a good relationship with Barca and they must be delighted about potentially getting Cancelo on loan.

Hopefully there will be a good buy option that will ultimately end up being triggered.
