TalkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan has raved over Phil Foden’s performance for Manchester City in their recent 1-0 win over Newcastle United in the Premier League.
After winning the Super Cup in midweek, the Manchester club took on Eddie Howe’s side for their first homes game of the new season.
The Citizens picked up all three points thanks to a winning goal from Julian Alvarez, which was assisted by Foden.
This then led to one pundit sharing his praise for the Englishman and his overall performance against the Magpies.
Jordan raves over Foden performance

Speaking on talkSPORT, Jordan had this to say about Foden’s display.
He said: “It was a standout, stellar performance. I didn’t think Newcastle were great in that game but putting that to one side, I thought Phil Foden was exceptional, no doubt about it.”
In addition to providing the assist for Alavrez’s winning goal, Foden made more key passes (7) than any other City player on the night, as well as successfully completing all three dribbles he attempted.
This performance ultimately earned the Englishman an overall match rating of 8.9/10 from SofaScore, making him the highest-rated player on the pitch.

After the match on Saturday, Pep Guardiola was full of praise for Foden and his ability, saying this about him specifically.
He said: “He has an incredible ability between the lines. The way he turns and attacks the last lines – it is one of the best I have seen.”
With all of that in mind, it’s easy to see why Jordan was so impressed and so full of his own praise for the City star and his latest display for the club.
