Arsenal defender Ben White has shared his thoughts about facing off against Manchester City in the Premier League in the upcoming season.
The two clubs are set to take part in tomorrow’s Community Shield clash ahead of the first weekend of the new Premier League campaign.
With the Citizens beating the Gunners to the league title last season, one of Mikel Arteta’s players has spoken out about how important this fixture now is for the north London side.
White excited for City clash

Speaking in a recent interview with ESPN, White had this to say about if he’s looking forward to playing City this season in the Premier League.
He said: “Obviously it’s the biggest game or one of, it’s an exciting game to be involved in and playing against the best players is what everyone wants to do.”

Even though Arsenal spent the majority of the previous campaign at the top of the league table, some disappointing results led to them dropping down to second place as City ended on a roll of consistent victories.

In the two league meetings between the clubs, City won both, with a 3-1 win at the Emirates followed by a 4-1 victory at the Etihad Stadium.
With that in mind, it’d be easy to see White and the rest of his Arsenal teammates would be looking at the fixture against Pep Guardiola’s side as being one of their most important for the campaign, especially since they’ll be looking to right their wrongs from last season and win the title.
Moving forward, if City can keep their consistency levels up throughout the upcoming campaign and not drop too many points, they’ll be in with a great chance of regaining the title.
