For the first goal, the Belgian skipper showcased his astute movement by running in behind Copenhagen’s defence and passing the ball into the back of the net.

As for Bernardo Silva’s strike, while an element of fortune was involved as the ball bobbled into his path, the 32-year-old’s persistence to keep hold of possession ultimately earned his side a slice of luck.

Finally, for the third goal of the night, the midfield maestro made an excellent run down the right flank before playing an inch-perfect pass to Phil Foden inside the box, who finished with aplomb.

After the contest, Pep Guardiola lauded Manchester City talisman Kevin De Bruyne, who stood out once again in his side’s latest triumph against Copenhagen.

“Extraordinary. The first goal was amazing, the pass in the right tempo from Phil [Foden] and after, [he] was involved in the second, was involved in the third. The biggest players appear in the biggest stages”, he told TNT Sports during his post-match interview.

“It is the hour of the truth when you are in the last 16 of the Champions League.”

Kevin De Bruyne was simply brilliant

Once again, Kevin De Bruyne showcased Pep Guardiola and Manchester City supporters worldwide against Copenhagen that he has the ability to produce goals and assists for fun.

After all, the former VFL Wolfsburg midfielder has registered an impressive seven assists and two goals in his last six appearances in all competitions, as per CBS Sports [via X].

The Drongen-born technician was brilliant against the Danish giants, dovetailing between his positions on both sides of midfield and in wide positions as well.

De Bruyne’s ever-changing positions gave Copenhagen a headache as they simply struggled to pick him up, as he broke the lines and created chances aplenty in numerous instances.
