Andy Townsend has back Manchester City’s pursuit of Michael Olise, believeing he is an ‘extremely talented’ player.
The Treble winners are looking to bolster their squad before the transfer deadline having lost Riyad Mahrez.
The Algerian joined Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli last month, and fans are wondering if he will be replaced.
Pep Guardiola could use Phil Foden or Bernardo Silva on the right.
But a new winger could also be signed, and Olise is a player the club are really keen on.
But there is competition in the form of Chelsea.
Olise has seriously impressed for Crystal Palace since he joined them from Reading.

He has big potential, and is someone many City fans are on board with signing.
And in the eyes of Townsend, he has the potential to be special.
Andy Townsend raves about Manchester City target Michael Olise
Yesterday on talkSPORT, Towsend was giving three young players he felt will be worth watching in the Premier League this season.
And straight away, he talked up Olise.
He said: “I like this young man. I really do, I think he’s extremely talented. Makes the game look ridiculously easy sometimes.
“Almost looks like he’s horizontal as a young man. Do you know what I mean? He looks like he’s so chilled and so cool about everything that’s going on around him. I do love watching him play. Needs a few more goals to his game. But I just think the way he plays off that right side coming in on his left foot, I think he’s really good.”
Olise made 11 assists last season for Palace.
Potentially, he would be a great fit in City’s team as a technical winger, just like Mahrez was.
Man City signing Michael Olise would be superb business
It would be great to see Olise wearing a City shirt by the end of this window.
He is someone that has been getting better and better in the Premier League.
He is still raw. But potentially he would be absolutely fantastic in City’s team, and would grow quickly under Pep Guardiola.

It will be very difficult to replace Mahrez, who always chipped in with a very good tally of goals and assists.
Olise has been showing that he can provide assists. But Townsend is right – he now needs to add more goals to his game. The chances are that he would do that if he signed for City.
