Fabrizio Romano has dropped an update on Kevin De Bruyne this evening, following speculation about him reaching an agreement on personal terms with Al-Ittihad.
City fans are watching the situation with the Belgian very closely this summer, since he only has one year left on his contract at City.
De Bruyne has long been coveted by officials in Saudi, who see him as someone who could change the game in terms of growing the SPL’s profile.
De Bruyne made some comments early this summer to suggest that he might be open to a move.
He spoke about the chance to earn astronomical money, and since those remarks, fans have been patiently waiting for updates.
Tonight, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano shared dropped an update.
Man City star Kevin De Bruyne has not reached an agreement with Al-Ittihad

Tonight, Fabrizio Romano has said that De Bruyne has not reached an agreement with Al-Ittihad, despite speculation suggesting he had agreed personal terms.
He wrote on X: “Saudi sources playing down reports about Kevin De Bruyne reaching an agreement with Al-Ittihad – told it’s NOT true.
“Al-Ittihad are focused on Moussa Diaby deal, set to be sealed very soon. Next step for Saudi club will be new goalkeeper with Ederson talks on but not easy.”
Al-Ittihad were said to have made an approach for City’s number one Ederson. But City are wanting at least £42 million to sell the Brazilian.
The information from Romano follows a report from Give Me Sport, which claimed that De Bruyne was leaning towards staying.
While De Bruyne did talk up the money on offer from Saudi, his preference would be to remain with City for the final year of his contract, it was claimed.
De Bruyne to Saudi seems not at all close
So Romano, who is one of the game’s most reputable journalists, is reporting that there is no such agreement between De Bruyne and Al-Ittihad.
The story was gathering momentum earlier today, with the Daily Mail having written a story sourcing a claim from journalist Rudy Galetti about the agreement. This claim from Galetti was made on July 5.
The story was covered by multiple outlets, but thankfully Romano has now dismissed the speculation.
Currently, a move to Saudi for De Bruyne seems quite far off. Not only is there no agreement between Al-Ittihad and the player, but there is also no agreement between Al-Ittihad and City.
It has previously been suggested that City would want over £100 million to sell.
